Laureldale’s founder and CEO Laurel Hilbert knows firsthand what it’s like to need help from others.
When he first arrived in the United States after emigrating from Syria, Laurel—who has been blind since birth—experienced not only the trauma and immense challenges of arriving in a new country, but additionally endured the monumental adversity of being homeless.

It was only through the authentic caring and selfless kindness of some key individuals who—like literal angels—appeared in Laurel’s path, that he was able to make it through those trying times. Thanks to the generosity of strangers who would later become friends, Laurel’s life changed dramatically.
With the founding of Laureldale’s, Laurel envisions an opportunity to not only give back, but to help inspire others to do the same. With something as simple as online shopping, his hope is that you’ll also be inspired to make choices that can change lives!
